The soul is suspended in a stream of part spirit, part subtle material pranic substance, of which there are 50 types maintained within the human body and chakra subtle body system. The individual soul of any being in this world or in the spiritual dimension also remains in the constant presence of an expanded localized aspect of the Godhead Soul Himself who remains with all souls eternally no matter what dimension they are in.
Aspects of the infinite Godhead Supersoul reside eternally within and all around each living soul in all species in this world and those in all other material and spiritual places constantly. Around the gross physical human body in this dimension are a variety of subtle body sheaths.
Within a stream of prana in any material body in any species within any material dimension, which is part spirit of the Godhead Soul Himself, is contained and maintained each individual soul. For a while, it has the appearance of usually being a handsome or beautiful fit young version of the gross physical person whose body housed that living soul before, like an ideal blueprint version of that person, usually much more perfect and youthful in appearance than the actual gross physical body had been.
The subtle body has 114 chakras in the body or so, and more besides, there are held by some yogis to be 32 above the head and several above each shoulder for instance, each person also has a merkaba subtle body, the shape of a flying saucer, around 45 feet in diameter, and the full auric field of each individual actually extends at least several hundred feet and can be sensed by those with open enough senses.
Machines will never ever replace the God soul who alone can support and extend our consciousness, we are being sold a lie that some godless machine can provide the spiritual vivification and extension of consciousness that the Godhead alone can do.

The soul itself is not physical, it alone is actually conscious, the brain is not conscious, the nanotech and the Cloud is not conscious. The infinite God Soul in which all others are situated is the supporting consciousness, there is no technological substitute for this.
Perhaps in more subtle dimensions, there being 14 dimensions of matter in this material universe according to vedic knowledge, some more progressively spiritually-combined forms of matter exist that might permit such a partly alive 'living' technology that can house a soul in that order of substance, but unless any such more spiritually combined alternative dimension periodic table of elements is fused with this one, then we are not going to see that happen in this particular world, and even then, the soul must still reside within prana, not within entirely non-living synthetic gross material bodies linked to computer-based Cloud consciousness.
However, some yogis and magicians are able to demonstrate other dimensional matter being made to manifest here in this dimension, and can even produce bodies to walk around in that are just as physical to the touch as any ordinary physical body here, so some slight possibility does exist.
Astronomical physicists today have detected physical matter using linear arrays of satellites which is coming from a literally different dimension of matter entering our physical area from 'nowhere' and suddenly becoming physically manifest as elements normally seen even in this universe when they had previously been undetectable to satellite equipment.

If you read the book Autobiography of A Yogi by Paramahamsa Yogananda, you will see how souls live forever, how they can even consciously reincarnate, how they can work with God to have bodies suitable for any dimensions instantly manifested just to visit any dimensions they wish even for limited periods of time.
A soul living in a physical body might have some degree of synthetic intelligence enhancement, certainly, but it will be a cold affair, not like the actually living expanded consciousness experienced by yogis and other mystics who join with an infinite living consciousness far superior to any machine, because that intelligence is pure love, actually spiritually alive, perfect intellectually, perfect in knowledge. That state of union is only fully realized when a soul from here wakes back up again in their true spiritual dimension of origin, as all souls in all material worlds must one day, many souls reside there constantly without ever coming to this world.
And a soul may sometimes even merge with that Godhead Soul as one, and that Godhead Soul then produces a new soul from His own substance to maintain the balance of the numbers and the harmony.
